Many children experience stressful events that include: child physical or sexual abuse; witnessing or being the direct victim of domestic, community, or school violence; severe motor vehicle and other accidents; potentially life-threatening illnesses, such as cancer, burns, or organ transplantation; natural and human-made disasters; sudden death of a parent, sibling, or peer; and exposure to war, terrorism, or refugee conditions. Even after experiencing such traumatic events, many children are resilient and do not develop enduring trauma symptoms. Unfortunately, however, a significant portion of children who have suffered trauma also experience emotional and behavioral symptoms that persist into adolescent and adulthood.
I specialize in working with children and adolescents who come with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues related to traumatic events. I also provide services for adults that span from therapy for depression and grief counseling to parenting support, and beyond. In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of my client's individual needs to help attain the personal growth they’re striving for.
