About Me

Dr. Julie Brown is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, a National Certified Counselor, a Certified Trauma Specialist, and a Certified Dialectical Behavior Specialist. She is also a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider,and a Certified Personality Disorder treatment professional, providing counseling and therapy for individuals, couples and families. While she effectively works with a broad spectrum of client issues, her specialty lies in treating trauma and traumatic grief in children, adolescents, their parents, and adults who have experienced traumatic events either as a child or in later years.

Dr. Brown's theoretical modality is functional and integrative.  This therapeutic approach is designed to get to the root cause of problems while at the same time provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing. Areas of expertise include Neurotherapy, Nutritional and Integrative Medicine, Equined-Assisted Psychotherapy, Person Centered Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, and Play Therapy.

Dr. Brown also founded a non-profit organization established to assist the underserved who have barriers to employment. She continues to volunteer her time mentoring individuals who strive for a better way of life, having even learned American Sign Language to reach out to the deaf. Her caring and supportive nature has been responsible for the successful turn-around of the lives of countless individuals, couples, and families alike.

She is a published author with a recent publication of a study linking a Raw Food dietary lifestyle (fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds) to improved depression symptoms.  Another  accomplishment has been the publishing of the guide "How to Pass the National Counselor Exam...the first time!" This publication promises to be the only instructional and resource guide any Counseling licensee-to-be will ever need to pass the NCE.
