About Me

Dr. Julie Brown is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a National Certified Counselor, a Certified Trauma Specialist, and a Certified Dialectical Behavior Specialist providing counseling and therapy for individuals, couples and families. Dr. Brown's theoretical modality is integrative.  Her therapeutic approach is designed to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing. Areas of expertise include Neurotherapy, Equined-Assisted Psychotherapy, Person Centered Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, and Play Therapy.

Dr. Brown also founded a non-profit organization established to assist the underserved who have barriers to employment. She continues to volunteer her time mentoring individuals who strive for a better way of life, having even learned American Sign Language to reach out to the deaf. Her caring and supportive nature has been responsible for the successful turn-around of the lives of countless individuals, couples, and families alike.

She is a published author with a recent publication of a study linking the intake of a raw food diet (fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds) to improved depression symptoms.  Another  accomplishment has been the publishing of the guide "How to Pass the National Counselor Exam...the first time!" This publication promises to be the only instructional and resource guide any licensee-to-be will ever need to pass the NCE.
